Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low Level Laser Therapy
What is it?

LLLT is a form of photo therapy which involves the application of low power monochromatic and coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing.  LLLT is used to increase the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation, and give pain relief.

Clinical Uses of LLLT

There are a number of clinical uses of LLLT, such as those in medical, dental, podiatric, chiropractic, osteopathic, and physical therapy.  It is an attractive form of treatment for athletes, especially those involved in professional sports, due to prospect of shorter recovery and lay off times.

Advantages over other modes of therapy?

LLLT has been found to offer superior healing and pain relieving effects compared to other electrotherapeutic modalities, especially in the early stages of acute injuries, and for chronic problems.  LLLT an also be used for acupuncture point stimulation.  LLLT is a universal method of treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective tissue, bone and skin tissue with one simple piece of equipment, however, the best results are achieved when it is used to compliment other manual therapy techniques.  It is non-invasive, drug-free, pain free and of short duration-usually 2-5 minute per treatment.

LLLT and Photo-therapy devices are FDA approved for the temporary relief of wrist or hand pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome to increase local blood circulation, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches, pains, and stiffness, relaxation of muscle spasms and minor pain and stiffness associated with arthritis respectively.  This is FDA approved photo-therapy used to stimulate the body's natural repair process and enhance patient outcomes.

Dr. DeMalio Asks some important questions of interest to Trumbull County residents - Chiropractor Trumbull County Dr. DeMalio Asks...

Could a chiropractor put an end to bedwetting?
If bladder control seems elusive, consider chiropractic. If spinal bones are interfering with nerves that control your child's bladder, plastic sheets, alarms and other methods simply add to the embarrassment. Trumbull County parents are often amazed (and relieved) that chiropractic can be so helpful. Learn more.
How do you know when you're healthy?
Ask most Trumbull County residents this simple question and you're likely to hear, "When you feel good" or "When you're at your proper weight for your height" or "When you have lots of energy and vitality." Great answers. But our chiropractic patients know that true health is when your body is working as it was designed. True health is how you function, not how you feel.
